Bangladesh A team coach Heath Streak and captain Mominul Haque want to win all the matches in their forthcoming India tour.
Bangladesh A will fly to India on Monday for a two-week tour to play three one-day matches and two three-dayers.
They will play a three-day game against the Ranji Trophy champions Karnataka while all the other matches are against India A.
“We
will try to win every game, this is our goal as a team. No team likes
to lose. We are no different," Streak said in a pre-tour press
conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The national team's bowling coach believes victory against India will be a great accomplishment.
"There’s no better feeling than winning, especially against a country like India."
Mominul, too, shared his coach's view.
"We
want to win all the matches. The coach wants that too. We’ve won four
[successive home series] with the national team. Everyone is hoping for
wins here too," he said.
Usually, there is a greater emphasis on
individual targets rather than team targets in A team matches. Some want
to be recalled to the national team, some want to assert a strong claim
for a spot in it, while others aim to make themselves known.
Streak, however, wants the individual goals to fuse with the team target.
"I
think it is both a great opportunity for lot of our young guys to get
more experience and a way to continue the winning culture," the former
Zimbabwe captain said.
"Hopefully in doing so, these guys can take the confidence into the Australia series."
