the way of Check Car Insurance Policies

Instructions

1

Confirm the policy term. assure that the policy effect and expiration dates cover the correct period of time. You don’t need the inception date to be one day before or after the dates acceptd to. Having a policy one day too early means you’re paying for coverage that you didn’t need yet, while having an inception date a day or to too late means you had a gap in coverage, that may result in a fine.

2

Review the named insureds. The named insured is another name for the policyholder. If the policy is in your name only then assure your name is spelled correctly. However, if the auto policy covers you your spouse and your teenager, assure they are all named correctly on the auto policy.

3

Check the policy limits and deductibles. Look through the liability and physical damage coverages to ensure it accepts with the limits and deductibles you requested from the insurance organization. If you acceptd to a $500 deductible on your comprehensive or Impact coverage, assure the policy states such. You don’t need to figure out at the time of a damage that the policy limits and/or deductibles are incorrect.

4

Look at the additional named insured and damage payee endorsement. If your car is financed through a lending institution, more than likely your contract requires that you add the financial institution as an additional insured/damage payee. assure the name and address of the additional insured/damage payee are correct.

5

Compare the policy premium. Once you have gone through the policy terms, situations, limits and deductibles, check to see if the premium listed on the declarations page of the policy is the same premium the insurance organization quoted you. If there is a difference in premium between what was quoted and what was issued, figure out why and have it rectified.
